What Is Cortisone Injections?
Cortisone (corticosteroid) injections reduce inflammation and pain by delivering a concentrated anti-inflammatory medication directly into the affected structure. They are used for a wide range of orthopedic conditions and are often the first-line injection-based treatment for acute flares.
How It Works
The injection is performed in-office using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance. The procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Most patients experience significant relief within 3-7 days. The effect typically lasts 4-12 weeks.
